Education / Employment History

1948-1951 – Canadian Army – Royal Canadian Dragoons - gunner-radio operator on Honey and Sherman Tanks.

1951-1953 - Government of Ontario - Land Title Surveys.

1953-1956 – International Nickel Company (Copper Cliff, Ontario) - Mineral Exploration – surveys in Northern Canada

1956-1991 International Nickel Company (Copper Cliff, Ontario) - Geological Research Lab – Laboratory Technician with various responsibilities including mineralogical, micro and macro photography, computer information, project engineering, and finally as Chief Fire Assayer (Gold) for Exploration and Technical Services

1991 – Retired.

2006 - Moved back to Almonte

 

Amateur Radio History

1976 – First licensed as VE3IFP in Copper Cliff.  VE3AC as instructor.

Active on 80 through 10 and on 2 meters as well, mostly CW DX as well as Phone National Traffic System activity and recently started on D-STAR.

Member of RAC, ARRL and Almonte Amateur Radio Club.

Also member of QCWA and Chapter 70. Presented with QCWA “35 Years Licensed” lapel pin at the Chapter 70 May 2010 dinner meeting.
