Ian grew up in the Scotland.

 

Education / Employment History

1940-1946 - Royal Air Force - Radio Operator

1949-1967 - X-Ray Service Engineer

1967 - until retirement - Sales Engineer in the radiation field.

 

Amateur Radio History

1948 - first licensed as GM3CZR

1955 - assigned VE3CZ upon moving to Canada

Ian was active in Ottawa Valley Mobile Radio Club serving as Secretary-Treasurer (1958), President (1960-1961), Publicity Chair (1961) Technical Advisor (1964) and Vice President (1987-1988). He participated in several Field Days and emergency exercises.

 

Ian was a member of QCWA and served as Director of Chapter 70 (1992-1993). At the Chapter 70 September 1994 dinner meeting he gave an interesting presentation on X-Ray Radiation and displayed several X-Ray tubes.

 

Ian passed away in 2007.
