Amateur Radio History
1913-1914 – Learned Morse Code at Boy’s School in
Toronto.
1920-1921 – Used 3ME (no prefix) in Toronto. He would
work ships near Owen Sound using 2” spark coil, electrolytic interrupter and
rotary gap.
1926 - He passed his amateur examination in
Montreal and received call sign VE2EM (held since). Used pair of 210 tubes as
transmitter.
He joined QCWA in 1976 and was a member of Chapter
70. Lance was presented with his “50
Year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin at the May 1978 dinner meeting
He passed away in 1989 in Montreal.
