Chapter 70 Member Receives Major Award

Jack Tennant VE4AHZ (formerly VE3AHZ) and former Chapter 70 President (1996-1997) has been advised in a letter from Philippe Zeller, Ambassador of France to Canada, that he has been nominated to receive the rank of Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour, the highest of France's national orders. The letter states that the award "attests to your courage and your devotion to the ideals of liberty and peace". The medal will be officially awarded at a ceremony later.

Jack was a member of the Corps of Signals and was attached to the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Regiment that landed on Juno Beach, on D-Day June 6, 1944.
